The book of Kings

The book of 1 Kings begins with the end of the reign of King David. It then transitions through the reign of king Solomon and his death  and the subsequent division of Israel into the 10 northern tribes of Israel and the tribe of Judah in the South. The book then follows the reign of a succession of kings in both the northern and the southern kingdoms. We see blessings that come from following and serving God and the problems that arise when we ignore Gods will.
